I think this kit is stunning. Probably my favourite away top of the last 10 years. Was this a popular kit with blues?

Hugely. It's impossible to imagine in the days of instant entertainment and player and the internet but when that kit first came out I didn't see it for 3 weeks. Everyone had talked about, a couple of my friends said they knew someone in the factory and they'd told them about it but when I actually saw it I was amazed. I think it really hit its peak when a load of professional footballers all decided to wear it to play against other professional footballers. I'd never seen anything like that. Nearly 40,000 people turned up just to see them wear it too! I can't remember the score now, but that hardly matters, everyone still talks about 'That Day With The Black and a Bit Pink Kit'. I'll try and see if there are any Pathe Reels of it.

Some of them pink or with pink ones were awful.

This the one where they used a maori haka to promote it without asking them how sacred the haka was? Disgusting really, made Everton look like they were back in the 80s with that release.
