Warrington Town Youth Team 1-1 Everton Academy
Warrington Town's youth team hosted an Everton Academy side in an open and entertaining game at Cantilever Park earlier this evening.
The game was a mid season friendly between the two sides who played out a 1-1 draw in front of Everton first team assistant manager Alan Irvine.
Town keeper and Toffees season ticket holder Tony Vaughan saved a penalty in the early stages to give Warrington the upper hand has both sides created great chances throughout the 90 minutes.
With 4 minutes remaining striker Connor Anderson unleashed a shot that flew into the top right hand corner of the net to give Town the lead.
Just 2 minutes later, an Everton attacker beat the offside trap to level the scores.
Youth team manager Chris Wells said after the game "Everton were great opponents and allowed us to play open football. I want to thenk them for sending a strong side down and hopefully we can meet again in the future."
