just had a new mexican takeaway open up near me.

normally if im peckish id buy something from 'perfect pastie' , but this new resteraunt sells ....... chilli chicken chimichangas.

there sooooooo good , ive actually been waking up in the middle of the night craving them.

just seeing a pic of them is like food porn to me.

chilli chimichangas , better than pasties ?
 

i once had a chimichanga when the multi screen 1st opened in warrington, very spicy but as i remember it was more lika a spring roll/ vietnamese loempia type affair than a variation on pastie design.

all a bit same same to me.
 

its not a pastry like a pasty , but more of a bread (outer layer texture is similar to a decent spring role) and it is wrapped round a portion of chilli chicken to form a pillow.

if you have never tried one , and like proper cornish pasties (the peppery kind) and if you like fajitas , you will defo love chimichangas.

hunt them down !
