Want Better Players, Not More Players

Lets hope Fernandes takes his chance against Derby. If he does I'm not going to be praising him to the high hills because lets be honest its Derby but it'll have been an improvement. A solid 90 minutes will do me and no lapses in concentration will do me.

Despite Derby's shitness they still have players like Savage and Miller who are hard working and get in your face so it won't be as easy as some of the players might think.

I especially want to see good performances from Arteta and Fernandes. Give them some confidence and hopefully they can hit top form in the run in.

I think our starting 11 when fit can play with anyone. The only match in which a healthy Everton team was outclassed against was Man Utd, and we were still only a 1 minute away from getting a draw. Arsenal beat us with 2 Jags mistakes, we had bossed them the whole match up until that point. Played Chelsea tough when we were healthy as well.

I think besides a RB and a replacement for Carsley (in which we could realistally wait another year before we get one) we just need depth. Maybe some quality 2-4M guys who can do the business when guys like Cahill are hurt.

Rook does that mean your happy finishing 5th or less every year cos thats were this current squad will finish even if we never have any injuries.(which won't happen)
to progress you have to improve the team every year even the likes of man u bring in a couple of new first team addittions in the summer and they are by far the best team ive watched in the prem.

I agree wholeheartedly with pretty much every point there. (y) - Although I think against Arsenal we seemed to lose heart too easily, but I'll let them off, considering the remainder of the season!

To be honest, with our current squad, I think all we need is a forward going RB.

I can imagine getting in a really good RB who can get forward as well as defend and we will end up bossing games from the back all season.

Get Manny doing the Carsley role and spreading balls to Arteta and Pienaar, they supply the Yak and AJ.... Ooh I'm gonna have to go for a wank in a minute! :D

To be honest I'm happy finishing 5th this year. Its been a good season. However even with a new stadium we're never going to be able outspend our rivals as it is money-wise we can't compete in the prem and we're never going to spend our way to the C-League. I'd like to get some silverware more than worrying about finishing 4th. And to do that, we're going to have to play 60+ matches/year and we need depth. Say our transfer budget is 20M/year I can't see us getting much better if we use that money on only 1-2 players. Now I don't mind going out and getting say 1 10M player especially where there is an obvious need (rt. side). But for a team like us constantly going after the big money buys, we are going to have an even thinner squad and if these starters get beat up/injured we'd slide into the relegation zone quick.

Plus look at the [Poor language removed]; they've spent like what 150M the past few years and what do they have to show for it other than Torres and Masherano (The other good players Gerrard and Cargagher are home grown).

As it is these teams have more spending power: Man Utd, Arsenal, [Poor language removed], Barcodes, Villa, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and maybe Pompey and Hammers). Plus in a few years we might be eclisped by QPR) We always going to have to do it with astute (i.e. cheap) buys, good coaching and developing our own players.
