America took the foursomes this morning 2 and a half 1 and a half. We lead 8 and half 7 and a half going into the afternoon.
Weather was America like over the weekend. I think the British players would have preferred more wind, but you have to acknowledge today we were comprehensively beaten by a better team....from what I can see, the US have won the Walker Cup. Looks like GB&I were crushed in the singles.
We got beat 8-2 in the singles and lost 15 and a half 10 and a half overalll. America’s greater depth shone through today in the singles, as it often does in Ryder, Solheim and Curtis Cups. Really enjoyable two days golf, look forward to seeing some players from both sides back at Hoylake for the open in 2022.
Some quality in that US team. Salinda, Pak, Augenstein, Bhatia and Hammer impressed me greatly yesterday. It’s ironic that Wu got beat yesterday as he has been their stand out player I feel. The only good news for GB was that I don’t think many of that American team will be amateurs for much longer. Some performance that yesterday wasn't it.

Followed Fitzpatrick (his brother Matthew was watching him) and Salinda (he hits it a mile) for the first 5 holes. Then Augenstein, Bhatia and Hanmer for about 3 holes each. Went behind the 5th tee (480 yard par 4) to watch all players come through after that. 250 carry to the fairway with gorse left and right,it’s a tee shot that sorts the men from the boys. As well as the US played, the GB teams gifted them some holes with some poor shots in perfect weather. But it would have taken something special to beat the US team yesterday.I managed to watch some highlights of the first day, looked a decent turn out as well mate. Did you follow anyone in particular around or just sit off at one of the holes it see them all come through?
Heard an R & A official day there had been 11k there over the weekend. Not surprised really as Hoylake is the most accessible course on the open rota (m53 4 miles away) and a train station 5 minutes walk from the course.I managed to watch some highlights of the first day, looked a decent turn out as well mate.
