If "volunteering" means being drugged, dragged to a secret, virtual location, forced to swear an oath of modship, then drink the blood of a banned poster, then yes, I have.
You weren't drugged, it was my bad BO, not chloroform.

Work in a youth club one day a week, help them set up and run their after school and evening sessions and clean up at the end.

Mostly good fun, scouse kids can be terrifying though.

There's a ten year old from the Everton Valley area who calls me Michael Jackson because he once glimpsed that I was wearing white socks.

I don't but have done

In my younger days I done sponsored swim for two charities in Liverpool, I also used to go to one of these and help teach kids to swim and just basically hang out there. All the kids were disabled but I will never forget how positive they were and so full of life, I felt so humble and it made me realise that a disability was not the end of the world. I was 15 at the time and in someway this experience helped me understand how important life in General is.

My big disappointment is I never carried on helping out, as I know this might sound awful but I enjoyed all my time there.

Extensive pro bono legal services. At least 20 hours per year, but usually more.

Also put on free workshops (and provide lunch) for elderly citizens in my community to discuss financial planning through Powers of Attorney, health care directives, wills, trusts, and government benefit program qualification.

Used to get 2 days a year paid leave to do volunteering. Work would arrange lots of projects from creating urban gardens to doing deliveries for FareShare. I got involved in loads, it was great.

If anyone gets a chance to spend a day with FareShare, don't miss it. A very rewarding experience.
