We should be using the canals for non-perishable transport instead of bloody lorries
on motorways. Once the system was in place there need be no lag in deliveries.
For the price you have to pay to travel by rail the service is disgraceful. I'm not talking about the staff on the ground floor but the proverbial fat cats up there in their ivory towers playing monopoly with real money and not bothering to buy the stations, mortgage them and allow them to lapse into disrepair because they get to do it for real.

Petrol prices have nearly doubled in recent years and yet car journeys haven't really fallen much.

Here in London, what with conjestion charging and lack of any kind of affordable car parking, public transport is pretty much the only way to get to and from work.

Like i said, if the service from one provider (the tube) is so bad they should find alternatives.

Buses, bikes, car sharing, walking.

Not continue to use the service than complain that the service is crap yet blame the workers.

what a laugh! how will this happen? by punishing the people who work in it, or by stopping the vultures who milk it?customers will see **** all passed in cost reduction, bet the bosses and shareholders will though.
boring fact of the day, it costs 3 times as much to run the trains today in real tems than under British rail for a worse service, train drivers are a money grabbing shower though, sold out there fellow workers loads of times so long as they get a few bob in there wage packet, hence the number of driver only deals done around the country.

Well I'm glad that robots are going to take their jobs in that case. I for one welcome our new rail robot overlords.

Vive la France. They are building and running our next gen Nuclear industry - a smart move, because if it goes wrong the governments that signed those deals can blame the old enemy, and if it works out then the money is ploughed back into France - where more and more Brits are choosing to resettle. Win win.

Will they speak with a Scouse accent or Wool........

As it was found to have a morale boosting effect in wartime, to ease the transition the robots will all have the voice of George Formby.
Robots employed to work in ticket offices and customer care will be able to smoothly integrate themselves as they don't speak English.
