Milk

Udderly delicious
Is this a new idea?

Thought I would buy a new car as the old one has 103,000 miles on it and likely to get expensive to maintain soon so popped off to a few dealers locally to see what's what and ...

Next thing I'm getting phone calls asking about my "experience".

WTF, I'm only buying a car not a sex doll ......

Trust me, they are basically one and the same once you get down to the root of things.

Oh you get that with everything these days. I work for a high street catalogue chain and we have to collect customers email addresses now so that that can be messaged to ask about their 'experience'.

Loads of companies do it, I sometimes offer feedback if a freebie is on offer.

Data collection...very common. Just wanting to know where customers are coming from to do their job better.

Probably the government is using this info to know where you buy your groceries.

Like at Labour conference they came out with a requirement that all public sector workers or just civil servants should reveal what their parents did for a living.

How much chuffing data do "They" need???

They're already tracking my mobile phone calls and monitoring my porn consumption. I certainly don't need car dealers ringing me up to ask about my experience. Cars are overpriced in any case ............ so stick that where the sun don't shine

This data has been noted.

They have no great interest in your actual 'experience' what they're ringing you for is to try and find out whether they torched you on your visit, or whether there's a chance they can get you back in to deal.

All of your data.

It's commodity. All of it. Reduce you to numbers, target their adds, buy their experience. Stay in the walled garden.

Yeah well, I'm a grumpy sod at the best of times so ringing me up is only going to turn a potential in to a NO.

Going to buy a BT8500 telephone as soon as I can. Apparently it weeds out nuisance calls before you receive them and all for a very reasonable £59.
