Virgin Trains Question

'try' is the key word. As I'll be trying my best to avoid a fine of any sort. Should be a decent contest.

Not what I was hoping to hear mind after buying a non-refundable ticket!

Worst case scenario. Swerve the barrier and go to the "don't have a ticket" booth and tell 'em you've travelled from the nearest station which a train has recently come in from and you'd like a single please cos you didn't have time to buy a ticket at the other end. Probably cost you about three quid.

that's a really good shout. I'll do my research on local stations and trains that arrive at a similar time to mine.

Nope.

My g/f travels by train everyday, they are bad NAZIS, she has been fined for getting off a station before and fined for not having a ticket, despite the ticket machine not working and the dude behind the counter telling her that he was meant to finish 10minutes ago and refusing to issue her a ticket, she appealed them both, she only "won" once, £80 fine and a warning.

TRAIN NAZIS

Failed to mention this as it wasn't really relevant.

But there was another fare to MK traveling from Liverpool for Just £11 - again booking through Virgin.

It involved Getting a London Midland train from Lime Street to Crewe then getting on the Virgin train (that started its journey from Lime Street) from Crewe to MK.

So that Virgin train is the one I've already booked on, but leaving from Liverpool rather than change at Crewe via London Midland from Liverpool

Why they make you travel to Crewe via another carrier only to have you board the same Virgin train that is leaving from Lime Street anyway is beyond me. (leaving directly from Liverpool to MK cost £26 lol)

And having the messing about of leaving 1 hour earlier and changing at Crewe, then facing the likelihood of boarding a packed Virgin train that I coulda just boarded at Lime Street didn't really appeal.
