They all look good, but got my heart set on the Tiger Cub just because my old man ( sadly no longer with us) used to ride them as a teenager in the late 50's early 60's.

Surely nothing better than a Triumph Bonneville?

Only if you own shares in an oil company! Especially if you have a 70s one.
Rode a new one fairly recently whilst mine was being serviced ... and I am happy to say that I was delighted to get back on mine.

Yep, just got back into it the last 2-3 years....used to go to watch Belle Vue Aces in the 70's when it was Peter Collins, Ivan Mauger and Soren Sjosten.....mate of mine is a Peterborough Pirates follower and got me interested again.....used to love the noise, the flying grit and the smell of burning methanol back then. Seen a company that do speedway riding day where they get you on a bike, out of the gate and even cornering even if you've never been on a bike before.
Belle Vue used to have the Wall of Death too in the mid-70's.....few seaside resorts had them but they died away before the end of the 70's.

Never got to the old Belle Vue unfortunately. My Dad used to tell me it was an awesome place back in the 50's, with the zoo and the funfair as well. A proper night out. Hope Belle Vue's new stadium comes through as the dog track is not the best for racing or watching.

I'm up the North East now so watch the Newcastle Diamonds. When it's good, it's as spectacular as any sport going and watching these lads get up after 60mph crashes and get straight back on the bike and race puts some of the playacting in football into sharp perspective.

Still looking for the right Cub.....any of you know if it's straightforward to get a new V5 for an old bike that doesn't have one, and if you can get it road-registered?

Ever seen the old bikes in the transport museum in Birkenhead? Some fantastic real early bikes, Norton, AJS, Matchless...etc Private collection but they have it on show there, far better than the trams

DON'T even consider buying a bike without a V5.
Bikes are too easily stolen and broken up, you will lose your money and your bike/parts.
When buying your Resto make sure it has a V5 and Engine/Frame numbers match.
