Is right, we have a slow start every year, in part, I believe, because of an unchallenging pre-season schedule. I'm all for making some money in the states/asia/SAfrica or wherever and pushing the Everton brand but the best way to do that is by performing well on the pitch.
 
Good stuff, I shall get tickets for this one.

Lets make sure we put the strongest team available out, and learn from the mistakes, as opposed to last year when he didn't touch the ball against Wolfsburg and seemingly thought; "Ahh not to worry, friendly innit".

Cue not winning a game for 2 months.
 
Great news, this is the type of team we should be playing get the team motivated before the season has even started. But as someone said we need to be playing more games like this.

Yeah we played Wolfsburg last year and still sucked.

Villareal is good but we still have Bury and 2 US clubs to play first, no good whatsoever if villareal are our biggest test.

Need at least 2 decent teams to play in between, say for nstance Spurs and Porto, 2 decent teams on our level or better.

Strolling to a 3-0 win achieves nothing in pre season.
 
Good news that, about time we had some quality opposition sick of playing Malaga's every year. Just wondering though, why don't we ever enter the pre season cups? We entered one a few years back with City, Bolton and China i think....wouldnt mind us doing the same again but with some decent teams.

It was the Thai national side... and they won. I remember we lost on pens. Weird, weird tournament that.
