Player Valuation: £35m
Decent signing for them , should have few good years left in him .

From an Ireland fans view its great news that he will be back playing week in week out , should have left last summer or in January , at his age last place you want to be is sat on a bench for a year .

On form , still one of the best keepers in the league .

Agree with that, link up with Dunne as well so transition shouldn't be so bad. Strange side Villa, they have seen all sorts of money for the likes of Barry, Milner, Young and now Downing. Only spent on Bent. Did McLeish ever spend big at Brum? They are looking at wholesale changes there this summer, Petrov and Delph seem to be the only senior names I can recall in midfield,
Just looking at the outs now
Friedel
Cuellar
Downing
Young
Reo-Coker
Pires
And Everton fans are wetting their nickers about us having made no moves yet.

Interesting to see if McLeish is able to get in the players he wants , cant be too attractive a place for a player to go to with them having just gotten rid of 2 of their better players if not their best .

As it stands now their need for signings is more than ours .

Great signing for Villa. As an American I wonder where this leaves Guzan. Villa's defense looks pretty good now, they have a solid goalscorer, but the midfield looks pretty weak. Understand why they went after N'zog.

Pretty much 1 out 1 in really isn't it. Not much to choose between them. Both great keepers. They've done well to get someone as good as Friedel for 3mill! And he's a bit younger as well. Dunno why they've given him a 5 year deal at 35 though. 3 years would have been reasonable and then they can talk after that, but a straight 5 year deal? Wow.

unless they sign 20 more players and have no money left for N'Zogbia, I'm pretty indifferent. I still think the Villa squad is a mess.
