Villa fan in peace

Hello. I am a member of Villatalk, an Aston Villa forum, I'm here in peace.

I've never joined another teams forum before but I felt I had to defend our position in the Richarlison thread after some members on Villatalk drew attention to them in our transfer thread.

Most Villa fans and especially those on VT generally have a healthy respect for Everton so I was suprised at some of the comments I read bearing in mind how similar our clubs are and shared similar history. We've had a few Everton fans drop by on there down the years.

Anyway I hope your situation improves as we've had our dark days and it's no fun at all.

Salutations mate.

My grandfather was born in Aston, and so I have always had a soft spot for your team.

Re, Stevie G La, every working moment he is thinking about going back to the RS.

He's merely treading water with you.

Sorry.

No worries. Our view is that it's not a problem. If Plop want him it's because he's done well for us so he leaves us in a stronger position than when he joined.

He needs to do some business next season though with a shed load of his own signings and a pre season under his belt. He won't get near the slack that Deano did.

Again, this ageing players thing. Our squad is very young. Not sure who all these old players are? Most players go beyond 33 these days anyway.

Seems to be quite a strong opinion on here we've signed a lot of old players and I don't know why. Coutinho?

There are reasons for our poor performance this year. I'd be astounded if we're not much better next year.

We bought a load of players who were mid/late 20s mate. You have to get success quickly, as otherwise they become a burden.

Yes I know. But we haven't signed a lot of old players and just because Everton got it wrong doesn't mean everyone else will.

Well depends how you define old mate dossnt it? Late 20s is quite old.

And no, it doesnt mean it automatically goes wrong, but it means you need to achieve something quickly. We came 8th the season after and it all went wrong. You will need Europe next season.

Sinceyouasked... serious question.... how on earth have you avoided falling foul of FFP? Just asking as the morons running our club might need some advice.
