Victor Anichebe & James Vaughan

Vic's got all the attributes to become a success - if he works hard he could end up becoming a big big player. Vaughan's a player that I thought would definitely make it here - but injuries have really screwed up his development. If he's gonna leave us, I hope it's for a fee that represents the huge potential he still has.

I'm afraid Vaughan is going the way of Michael Branch & Danny Camamarteri. He has not developed and is now 5th or 6th in the pecking order, and at this stage of his career he would be better getting 30-40 games a season in Championship or League 1.

Out of the two now, I think Victor has the better chance at making it at Everton where as it was the other way round a few years ago.

I just think Victor has all the attributes that most look for in a modern day footballer, he's big, can be strong and quick. A lot of the emphasis is on him now thought to go and prove it to everyone out there.

I think Vaughan may leave in the summer which is sad really as he is the one most had high hopes for but injury after injury set back, has not let him develope his career as maybe everybody would of wished it had.

If someone comes in with an offer of £1.5M for Vaughan I think we should take it. He is to injury prone to make it. And even if he wasnt he would be 3rd/4th choice striker at best.

Vaughan linked with Blackburn today for 1.5m

Think it's tosh again, but I would like to see him go out on loan

THIS

More beneficial to us in the short term I feel.

Know the arguments about 1 game away from injury etc- but pretty regular pre-season for him so far albeit mostly with the ressies and 1 behind doors game that our favourite Belgian also played in.

No disrespect to Bolton/Blackburn but with a run of games (the big if!!!!) he'd improve them massively for that kind of fee - so I'd rather see us take the hit on his wages half a mil or so for the next year and have him out on loan at top champ club instead- maybe his confidence comes back and he's fighting to be between 2nd and 4th choice (again big ask!!!) but we just don't know. Rather be positive about him as so easy to dismiss despite his massive injury woes- assess till Jan basically and whether with us or elsewhere no run of games equals get shut- all imvho of course.

Better to sell i think. Use the money for arteta and pienaars contracts. More beneficial

But we have a money available for Arteta and Pienaar's contracts. Problem with re-signing them is not an issue with lack of money for this 2 individual contracts, but it's an issue with a wage team structure and what players can eventually receive from other clubs.

Sell Sell Sell. We'll do well to get any price from JV. Wasn't so long ago figures of £4m were being splashed around.
It's better to let him go for both club and player. In our system even if he was fit he'd never get ahead of Saha, Yak & Beckford. Let him go to a championship team where he might get 20-30 games a season. Get him off the wage bill and get shut of the unfounded hope that he may one day be a first team regular for us: it ain't going to happen. To take us to the next level we'd need a Rooney/Drogba quality striker, and JV can't offer us that.

I have to agree with the folks urging to sell. He has dropped in the pecking order, and is too much of an injury risk. The potential is there, but there have been too many issues with him in the past.

...adding a sell-on clause wouldn't be a bad idea, though...gotta hedge your bets.
