Is a custodial sentence in the post for Vicki Pryce to you reckon? She seems to have had some really appalling legal advice IMHO - marital coercion? There was no way a jury would wear that from a woman of her background. She obviously was pressurised to take the points to an extent, so a simple guilty plea from the outset would have seen a v lenient punishment I reckon.

Feel a bit of sympathy for her tbh (reckon I may be on my own with that, given most people's reactions that I've read) - she seems to have made some bad decisions out of anger at her marriage failing. The crime itself is trivial, but it's blown up into this huge circus and I guess the judge will have pretty strict guidelines on sentencing for perverting the course of justice.

I think she hoped that a sympathetic jury would take her side regardless of the defence to be honest . I have a small amount if sympathy but obviously she has been happy to cut off her nose to spite her face .

I find its an interesting barometer of society as if they were two working class people nobody would care but the same daily mail law and order types are bleating about sympathy . It's like all kinds of coppers have been arrested over leaking stories to the papers and everyone is (rightly ) putting the boot in but the moment a high ranking well connected copper gets dragged in the 'enquiry is going too far' .

When the upper class do it it's 'high jinks ' and when the working class do the same it's 'violent disorder '

Spot on this. People in positions of authority have no special rights to flaunt the laws of the country, no matter how much they think they do.

She'll get a paltry sentence anyway. She'll do no more than twelve weeks.

Am I the only one that finds it staggering that the Chris Huhne fella goes from one ugly tree to the next? Christ alive he must have some serious psychological issues to want to sunbathe on those beaches.
