I reluctantly voted genius cos they really were a long, long time ago. But I think they haven't evolved their humour since those early days. Also Vic Reeves is not a particularly loveable (even likeable) character- unlike his heroes Morcambe & Wise. He always comes across as a bit miserable and arrogant. Shooting Stars has been going a decade too long. Vic and Bob used to be a must see for me- now I turn over when they're on.

Good points. An old mate of mine is a comedy writer these days and says Vic can be a bit of a cahnt at times. And you're right about their star waning over the last decade. Their early to mid period stuff really was up there with anything else you care to mention though.

i put genius but what is a genius. indefinable really. vic and bob were/are funny as fck. they ooze humour out of every pore. who cares what vic is like long as he makes you laugh on the telly. comedy greats who will go down in the annals

as people have already said, in their day they were streets ahead of anything else comedy wise. Sadly they haven't evolved their act as the years have passed so now they only irritate and annoy. Cheese on otter for me.
