Vet fees

Didn't know that. When did that change ? ; on the medicines for my horses it still says words like Buscopan (also good for humans).

For me they deserve their money. My veterinarian is something like 1.55 m (something around 5 feet I think) and very skinny. She spends her days with her arms up horses and cows, giving injections to horses who are much larger than her and who aren't in a good mood... Quite a hazardous occupation from time to time.

Maybe it's just the Uk ?.

I've heard that some vets get animal drugs via the grey market from places like Greece, which are significantly cheaper ?

I don't know mate, genuinely have no clue. I don't think she gets her drugs on the grey market, she's always complaining that she has too much work. Maybe it's more expensive for dogs and the like; I only know about horses.

I haven't noticed a price hike in the last years for general drugs (for humans and horses), stuff like Buscopan for when they have a horse colic or such. I however did notice a hike in horse specific medicines like worming treatment. Every couple of months this is needed and it costs 18 €/dose (that's the price of the drugs, it used to be 14€; she doesn't charge a visit if I collect the drugs from her parents).

Cat is doing well after the op thanks!

This bill makes me fear what the future of the NHS will be if the Torys get back in.

You read horror stories of people getting cancer in USA and having to declare bankruptcy in order to pay to live!

Found out they are governed to protect the organisation so if you want to complain you can only complain about the actual Vet and not who they work for. Sneaky as.

My German Shepherd died of Leukemia a few years ago, he had been treated by my vet that turned out to be a top fella. Basically the insurance company had wriggled out of the bill on some small print in the T & C of my policy, even the vet hadn't heard of what they were claiming. To cut a long story short I was looking at a bill of 800 quid and the vet wouldn't take a penny from me due to the insurance companies tactics! He told me that he dealt with this company daily and would get the money from them..... and some! Like I say top bloke.
