Valuating our current striking options

I'd only play Saha for a half each week, no one knows how Denny will settle in, Cahill is a deep lying forward, Victor might come good, have a few youths waiting for a taste at the top - even more so with Barklay stepping in.

Hallam Hope?

Get him into the squad for the carling cup game, might be possible to give him 15 mins to see how he copes. He looks physically capable so worth a look.

The thing I don't get with Louis' injury issues is the fact that the man's ripped, it's not like he's a lump of sh*te that shows up to pre-season two stone overweight. It's baffling and you'd never guess he's had an injury list longer than your arm when you see him with his shirt off.

Should've got Jo in. Missed a trick there.

When fit we all know it'll be Saha up top with Cahill in behind. Not necessarily a bad thing that mind. Who knows what Dirty Den is gonna do, I hope to God that he knocks a few goals in. We do look short of options but we'll 'go with what we've got'. It's the Everton way ffs.

Nah, Ricky Villa, scored a brace in the cup final for spurs in his first year didn't he?

Sava at fulham too as I'm grasping at straws.
Ricardo Villa arrived at Spurs along with Ossie Ardiles in the summer of 1978 (after the WC win). Ardiles established himself as a class act pretty quickly whereas Villa was much more inconsistant. Best remembered for that goal against City in the cup final in 1981.

McAleny has the clear advantage, being able to dart between CB legs without stooping to avoid their swinging sacks. The only downside is the ball comes up to his knees.

All kidding aside, I thought he looked sharp and he shows great energy but he will be limited to late subs if he sees the pitch at all.

It really comes down to Saha's health and Vellios/Tevez Jr's ability to acclimate to a new level of play.

I still would like to see Bily thrown into the deep end with a look at forward. I'm not sure it would ever work, but if it comes to that....
