Valencia Deny Banega Reports?

According to various reports, Valencia have issued an official statement maintaining that they have held no negotiations with Everton over a season-long loan for Argentine international Ever Banega.

Just Yesterday, Everton manager David Moyes confirmed a deal was close: "The work permit was cleared yesterday so everything going well we hope to see him in the next few days, he has got the ability to take the ball in play. He's a good footballer and he's young and hopefully has time to improve as well."

This is classic Everton. Is this a case of look who we are signing, or trying to prove that this is the kind of player they are thinking of, but actually are unable to back it up with hard proof.
 
The only thing i can say about that is that we have the story on our OS, whereas nothing has been confirmed on Valencia's.
