I kinda feel bad for the youngin's. Cause clearly Bob looked at the schedule and said, "screw it", and put out his rookie squad in the hopes that they would learn something. What resulted was ESPN cringing and a chunk of the 60K crowd with nothing to get excited about.
(By the way, 65K!!! And a very, very respectable amount of US Soccer fans! I love seeing the growth of the game here - looked great on TV.)
Howard - played a respectable game as much as he could. Thought he was going to beat some of his defenders into the ground a few times. Not much to say except "moving on." You could tell he was trying to marshall a young back line.
Spector - horror show. He should not be here in any position. Cherundolo was beating him up the pitch towards the end of the game. The RB, and not while bombing up the line. Terrible.
Gooch - I think he just played himself out of a starting spot and gave it to Goodson. Cause Goodson was better.
Ream - calmest out of the entire back line. Kudos. Had some booboos, but has potential and should continue to see decent minutes. Distribution was solid when he was allowed to use it.
Lichaj - Had some good moments, had some horrid moments. But we have a LB problem, so he stays.
Kljestan - I went the full first 45 before realizing he was on the pitch. Once I realized it, he sucked. And his set pieces sucked too. Bedoya in his limited time was better.
Rogers - shouldn't be able to touch this team with a 10 foot pole. I hate you Nurnberg. (sob *Chandler!* sob)
Jones/Edu - both didn't look good. Edu just isn't an attacking midfielder for us, and Jones didn't do enough.
Bradley - looked surprisingly unrusty when he came on and instantly calmed the midfield. Delivered some great through balls too.
Cherundolo - Veteran instantly calmed the right flank siege. Got beat on the Torres goal, but spent 1/2 of his time making up for Spector, so can't blame him.
Dempsey - A class above the rest.
Altidore/Agudelo/Wondo - such limited service, I can't judge. But at least Agudelo/Wondo made some runs. Jozy still looks off. God I hope one of these guys gets hot in the next couple of weeks.
BRING ON CANADA! Can't wait. At least we'll get to see the A squad.
