Will this catch on ? Better than getting 'snowed in' ? Would we miss or even notice the absence of our Civil servants ?

I flew to DC on sunday night to work at the National Archives. 24 hours later they're closed indefinitely due to republicanism. I'm used to headaches doing research in third world countries (Vietnam, Cambodia etc.) but this takes the cake.

How long were you expecting to be researching there ?
Not great mate :(

General election elects president. Check.
General election elects legislature. Check.
Supreme Court selected by constitutional checks and balances. Check.
President proposes law. Check.
Congress votes for law. Check.
Supreme Court upholds law as constitutional. Check.
President re-elected based largely on public approval of law. Check.

Lower house of Congress shuts down government in order to force government to delay implementing said law.

Pure madness.

*waits for TX Bill

Seriously though, this is as frustrating (and futile) as a Moyes team at Anfield.

A minority of a part of a part of the government is clinging and grasping at power at the expense of thousands of families and social programs not to mention medical and technological research because they're still annoyed by the majority passage of a progressive healthcare bill that doesn't directly benefit their corporate sponsors. Everyone in US Congress are being tots, but some are more tittish than others.
