Terrible stories but hopefully it stops now that it’s in the open. The people in charge need changing and Nassar needs to go away for a long time. Good on Raisman and the others to testify so clearly and bravely.

Yeah, this is tragic and disgusting. And the fact that this psychopath tried to suggest that listening to victim's statements was bad for his health (this is what he told the judge) is beyond comprehension.

President of Michigan State University resigning as part of this. Allegations of years of abuse in Nassar's role as team physician for MSU athletics, with student reports ignored at the University.

I fear that there will be many more reports of similar abuse in terms of coaches, volunteers, etc., for many youth sports. If there are, they need to be heard and addressed.

My heart breaks for these young women and at the same time, I am so very happy to hear their strong voices in condemnation of his actions and seeing their ongoing recoveries from his abuse.

As a Board member for a youth soccer club, this type of thing is one of my greatest fears in our club. We do background checks, etc., for coaches & volunteers, but those only reveal incidents that were reported to and addressed by law enforcement. There are obviously risks of things that weren't reported.

Heavy heart about all this.

It is stupid they made this mistake, I am astounded at the continuing institutional blindness when incidents are reported. Abuse will happen whatever we try to do - it's how we respond - to the victims and the abuser that marks how we are growing as a society.
