Meyer hired too many guys w/ baggage, it was bound to bite him someday. He's gone, the only thing going on is the buyout negoiations. Even if this gets more messy, he'll have a 5-7M job by next year if he wants one.

Apparently he signed a new contract that has a firing for cause clause

Failure by Coach to promptly report to Ohio State’s Deputy Title IX Coordinator — Athletics or Ohio State’s Title IX Coordinator any known violations of Ohio State’s Sexual Misconduct Policy (including, but not limited to, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, intimate violence and stalking) that involve any student, faculty, or staff or that is in connection with a university sponsored activity or event. For purposes of this section ... a “known violation” shall mean a violation or an allegation of a violation of Title IX that Coach is aware of or has reasonable cause to believe is taking place or may have taken place.

Not sure about the retroactive nature of the clause.

I've never run an institution of higher learning, nor even a small business, but if I were in charge of TOSU, my letter of dismissal would be simple and the body would contain only two words (and not "you're fired")

OSU (and/or any other Big Steak University that this happens to) primarily want to keep it out of the courts so they can tell kroots that there is nothing to see here and avoid more stuff coming out that the NCAA gets involved. They'll happily give him plenty of money to make it happen. If not they would have just fired him on the spot.

Probably so, but makes me sad. He should have to give the pay out to the ex-wife or women's shelter or such.
