I'm never positive. I'm just realistic. I realistically see us winning a large chunk of these games and I think they're set up in a way which will allow us to go a winning streak.

I don't think we're a bad side, I just think the balance is all wrong and there's a few players who are not wanting the ball at the moment due to confidence (Rodwell and Fellaini mainly). A few wins on the bounce and the side will start rolling.

I think our usual resurgence after a crap start to a season will start earlier this year.

Realistic?

You have been paying attention the the many disappointing results against "lower" teams we have got over recent years right?

Very easy? We'll be lucky if we win 6 out of the 12 games.

Sure we won't lose 3 in a row but you know what will happen you must do.

It's amazing what a win does

I had the run of results suggested above in the Prediction League long before the result today.

I have us picking up 29 points to be exact!

Yet people were saying we'd nick points off the bigger teams like we "usually do" which didn't happen. In the past we've came up against weaker opposition after a decent result against a big side and blew it - this year we have a succession of weaker sides without a big 'un in sight, which means we won't be complacent after a big game.

European football next season - that's the last thing in the world a club who's owners are intent on slashing back even further a threadbare squad needs.

Unbelievable davek, you're the only one on here who's pessimistic outlook on all things Everton manages to cheer me up. Have to give you credit for that.

Laughing here.

This is just basically what is said a few days ago somewhere on here, winnable games from 19th nov to feb bar arsenal i said, but take one game at a time as Everton are so unpredictable big time sometimes,we have played some hard teams after we play man utd/Newcastle and have a load of what some as said games were we could pick a ton of points up,so far we are playing a win/lose season

It's true though. We have the smallest squad in the Premier League. Anyone wanting to add a minimum of 10 more matches onto next season better be prepared for the consequences of it.

Agreed. Will probably be Toffee Dan or Dublintoff, as we share the same initials.

Tagged.

On a serious note, now that this tough run is coming to an end, i think if we can pick up a point next week we will be around about where the majority thought we would be.

As we all know, there is no easy game when you are everton, but we should pick up a significant amount of points in the next batch of games to bring us to around the 7th-10th mark, which again is par for the course for us.

Try and factor injures and suspensions to the smallest squad in the Premier League and readjust your points target.

That said, if we can get some width into the team on both flanks to break down lesser outfits coming to GP who get things very narrow and stifle the game, we could have a better time of it than last season in some games.

Swings and roundabouts really. I'd be surprised if we finished 9th to be perfectly honest.

Nice one for the positive thread tubey. A lot depends on how we play rather than who we play though. We can't ride our luck forever. We need the players to really turn it on to get the most out of the next 3 months. We can't carry on like this or we'll be mid table. I have expected and been disappointed before but I agree the fixture list gives us a huge opportunity to get into the top 6 going into the last 3 months of the season.

However, we're not that team of 07-08 that could go on 15 match unbeaten runs, we'd need huge luck with injuries and... huge luck in general.

Chelsea and United will both be looking to put things right and to take out their frustrations on someone. Hopefully we'll be able to use that against them, rather than taking a spanking ourselves.

Saha out for 4 months, through a combination of thigh strains. Replaced by Vellios, Straq, MacFadden or more likely Cahill and Fellaini.
Gueye out for 2-8 weeks, through a stubbed toe. Replaced in the reserve side by Adam Thomas.
Cahill out for 3 months, through fatigue after having played 120 mins for the Aussies vs Malaysia. Replaced by Barkley and Neville in equal measure (Neville 98% of the fixtures).
Fellaini out with a bruised shin (stamp on Carra-la) for 2 months. Replaced by Neville and Heitinga in equal measure (Neville 98% of the fixtures, which in this case is probably a good thing).
