Allardyce Out
I was just having a look through our fixture list... after Chelsea and United (two probable hidings on the way there) we actually have a run of twelve winnable games, or at least eleven out of the twelve if you exclude Arsenal but I'd fancy us against them if we were in form.

I know it sounds mental coming from a negative arse like me, but I could see us picking up 25-30 points between now and when we take on Manchester City in February, which would actually put us in strong contention for Europe.

No, I'm not on drugs. Looks at the fixture list. Between 1st November and 1st February it looks very easy.

Appearances can be deceptive...

I think we're a confidence side, and when you see a run of fixtures that includes Swansea and Norwich at home on the bounce followed by lacklustre sides like West Brom and Sunderland away then it's not hard to envisage 12 points right there.

There is a hacker amongst us. Today, they've hacked Tubey, tomorrow DaveK.

Actually, I think you're right though mate. Not sure about the Newcastle game though.

We will do quite well after this bad patch. Tbh I don't know why anyone is surprised. We knew October would be crap, we have got pretty much the results we thought.

Would tend to agree with ya, it's just that we have looked anything but confident recently. Hopefully that will have changed a bit after today. I'd take a top half finish right now.

Those 2 you mention both won away yesterday as well of course, and the other 2 got good away draws as well...just sayin' like.
But let's be POSITIVE in this positive thread!

Personally think we looked very confident against the RS at home, before we got screwed over by the referee and that dirty rat Suarez.

There's still enough quality within our squad to have a decent season.

I'm never positive. I'm just realistic. I realistically see us winning a large chunk of these games and I think they're set up in a way which will allow us to go a winning streak.

I don't think we're a bad side, I just think the balance is all wrong and there's a few players who are not wanting the ball at the moment due to confidence (Rodwell and Fellaini mainly). A few wins on the bounce and the side will start rolling.

I think our usual resurgence after a crap start to a season will start earlier this year.

Bit worrying though when DM says he hasn't yet found a "winning formula." Hopefully he finds it on Wednesday night as a good CC Cup run would do us the world of good.

European football next season - that's the last thing in the world a club who's owners are intent on slashing back even further a threadbare squad needs.
