Unsworth giving up on the kids

Looks like we're struggling to shift Browning, which I'm a bit surprised at tbh as I think he's capable at Championship level. His injury problems are an issue and maybe that's why clubs are reluctant to take a chance.

I can understand the situation with Galloway tbh. He was a very good prospect 2 seasons ago but his confidence has been completely shattered due to two disastrous loans. He's a club asset on a long term contract so I can fully understand us trying to get his career back on track. He's still only 22 and there's possibly still a player in there somewhere. Probably not at the level we need, but if we can get him back to the level where we can offload him then it's worthwhile.

There is then still Pennington and Williams to consider. I would imagine both having enough suitors from the championship to offload them before the loan window shuts. It depends whether Silva see's them as injury cover for the first team squad. Two of our CBs are currently injured along with half of our midfield, so you can see his concern. Personally, I can see both going out by the weekend, and possibly Browning too if we can manage it. Our two usual U23 defenders are both injured at the moment anyway so nobody's development has been put on hold so far.

..I think Joe Williams has gone to Bolton.

The Echo have said that Unsworth is keeping Galloway and Browning for this season, he'll probably keep Pennington as well knowing him.
Its looks like Feeney, Gibson, Astley, Ouzounidis and Warnock will have their places in the u23s taken off them this season by Unsworth. He done it last season too by playing Garbutt, Grant, Henen and Baxter ahead of younger players who actually have a future.

Surely Marcel the magician will step in and stop him from doing this AGAIN ?
I feel for you mate. All those years of rushing home from work to get your lad to the seemingly endless training sessions. Ferrying him across the country to stand in the freezing rain cheering him on in victory and defeat. Driving him on , demanding he gets his head out of those stupid books , stop hanging round with his mates and concentrate on his football practice. Woe betide him if he wanted a girlfriend , no time for such fripperies , not until he's established in the first team and the national side.
Telling your mates how he's going to be star , dreaming of watching him play in the premier league while you sit in the directors box hobnobbing with the rich and famous. And of course giving up your rubbish job to help him deal with his millions.
But now you're beginning to realise he probably isn't good enough it's a blow.
All may not be lost though he may still be good enough for the lower reaches , Stalybridge Celtic or Stafford Rangers. You'll still get to sit in the directors box and chat to the local radio DJ. You will sadly have to keep that rubbish job though.
Still , chin up , there's always the lottery. Or the grandkids.................
