Will be the upturn in our fortunes with refereeing decisions.

I've always said the effect of benefitting from dodgy decisions is worth at least 10 points a season to each of the big clubs.

Ferguson's Man Utd, Wenger's Arsenal and the likes of Carragher and Gerrard at Anfield have made constant haranguing of the referee into an artform and it has definitely boosted their share of favourable dodgy decisions over the years. Latterly Man City and Chelsea becoming media darlings has also meant not just better players but a bigger share of the dodgy decisions too.

Everton probably too benefit more than the likes of Hull, Bournemouth and Watford from this, purely down to our historic context in the game, but we haven't really been masters at the art of ref baiting since Graeme Sharp and Peter Reid were strutting their stuff in Royal Blue.

So to now have onboard a player who not only has been well versed in this fine art over a 13 year career at Man Utd (most of it under Ferguson), but is also a natural born on the pitch nark and still has the profile of being England captain and its highest profile player can only be a good thing for the blues.

I expect it to be worth at least an extra 5-6 points next season and if we are really lucky maybe a couple of them might even result in a victory at Anfield ?

Still can't believe 'his return' isn't a live game on sky. Of course the nations fans would rather watch Watford v Liverpool and arsenal v Leicester. I thought that would have been an immediate positive effect of getting him back.

I thought that as well.....though I do believe they announced the TV fixtures several days before Wayne signed.

Well the secret is out now isn't it.

We won't get a sniff of a decision now once everyone reads this.

If next season Jagielka is still standing miles away from the ref during heated moments with his hands on his hips, then slowly wanders over and leads our players away, I'm going to fume. About time the players were taught to challenge decisions and put pressure on refs to give things their way as the game goes on. Had enough of this crap sportsmanship lark, no one gets anywhere by being mellow and nice.
