Unlucky Managers......

he's lucky to have landed one of the biggest jobs in the world on the basis of achieving little in his career.

getting paid millions in the process, wish i was that unlucky.

What are you on about? That's absolutely pure conjecture, and you come off as a paranoid madman, despite your claim otherwise.

UEFA are in no way "out to get" Everton. If anything, they just don't care about us.

It was a bit of hyperbole to make a point, but thanks for the concern about my mental health. Truth is, though, everything about that game stank to high heaven.

The bad performance in that matchup was definitely not luck, but we could have been paired against some minnowish club from Cyprus or Scandinavia instead of a quality Spanish side. I'd consider that luck.

No, we were always going to be paired with a good side because the system UEFA use, they a points system where the more european games you play the more points you have and the more wins the double points you get.

We hadnt played in europe much at all, we had **** all points so we were always going to be drawn against a good side.

I don't think luck played any part in us drawing Villarreal or the fact Collina was brought out of retirement to ref the second leg.

it was a conspiraceeee by youayfa and dat collina to let dem kopites inta the group stage at ar xpence.........

(where have we heard that before ? )

Bollox article really - you could compile a list of how lucky he was with us if you were so inclined, starting with coming fourth in the prem and qualifying for the Cl with a pretty ordinary team (Marcus Bent leading the line FFS).

He is unlucky to be the guy who takes over Utd at the precise point they give up and admit they're a mediocre side. Ferguson handing Moyes a team of mediocrity is one thing, but the fact they won the league last year by some mass hypnosis black magic really does turn the screw on him.
Of course any Moyes hater would feel he's lucky just to be there so it's all in your perception of luck.

Luck is what you make it indeed. And by being a negative [Poor language removed] he's making his luck disappear pretty quickly.

Another way of saying what I mean is "fortune favours the brave" - we went in to attack at Old Trafford, for example, and, in reality, should've won by a bigger margin. He sits deep and waits for the bumming to begin - guess which one is brave, like...

For the game at OT - not saying they didn't have chances, but with the players at hand they should be playing some great footy and creating chances at will, not defending a 1:0 lead for the most part.

Bad luck can always play a part but it's never the leading reason for failure, that falls on bad tactics and a poor mentality to pick yourself up after decisions go against you. The problem for Moyes is that he's been losing games which they shouldn't have to rely on luck to win and once again expectations at another club are lowered to take the pressure off him.

Maybe Moyes is unlucky. Maybe he isn't. What he does do though, is put himself in situations where having bad luck can servely hurt his team.

Yes, Distin's bad pass in the derby semifinal was bad luck. But if we had gone at a thoroughly mediocre Liverpool team instead of clinging to a 1-0 lead with 60 minutes to play that bad luck pass might not have mattered at all.
