Incredible isn't it? For all the talk of us getting a sugar daddy, I'd much prefer we took the United approach and grew our own revenue.

Kinda sad isn't it? I studied United a lot during the early PL years, and they did an awful lot right during that period off the pitch. They built a new training ground, expanded Old Trafford, did an awful lot to improve their merchandising revenue.
They're far more of a role model than Chelsea or Man City imo.
I think for all the criticism, arsenal appear to have done very well.

Agreed. They spent a huge amount of money on a new stadium and have managed to stay in the Champions League positions whilst they're paying for it. I think they'll be right back up there again within the next 5 years and eventually overtake Chelsea, as they have a much more sustainable model. A very well run club.
They spend so much money on wages though. Insane ammounts.
Guys like almunia and bendtner and denilson get similar to guys like van persie and fabregas because they have a very small variation in wages.
They seem to be able to afford to do so though whilst still making large profits. £100 a ticket probably helps a fair bit with that, mind.
I'm sure their wages aren't disproportionate to the wages that United, Chelsea and City are paying for players of similar ability though, and they have a much higher ceiling. I'd say United's top earner will be on possibly twice what Arsenal's is.
