wall shouldve jumped as well. defense was poor overall, beckerman was overrun too
Totally disagree. If you jump there, the way that was struck- you are guessing. If you guess wrong it is in the net. Very difficult to put a shot on frame over the wall with that sort of power. Great shot.

This game. It happens sometimes in football. US outplayed Jamaica, but that doesn't really matter as Jamaica put in two of their 3 really good chances while the US put them over the bar, off the bar or into the keeper. If that first Jamaica header is a half inch further outside it doesn't go in. Just bad luck, bad finishing and a few bad plays.

This may be the first time this has ever happened to the USMNT.

In the past, the expectations have never been high enough to have this kind of loss.

Actually, I think yes. Guzan mis-played the first one (though to be certain, Howard is well able to be caught a few steps off his line) and the second was a horrible lapse.

There aren't too many keepers in the world stopping that 1st goal. It was perfectly placed. The 2nd yea mistake to give up the free (the goal was also well taken and the wall looked like it couldn't have been bothered). Guzan has been meh, I've always been a Romando fan so I'd rather see him get a run. Klinsmann was po'ed that Howard left and the man can hold a grudge. I doubt he ever plays again for the US with the exception of the lap of honor friendly.

Guzan could have been back on his line (where the Jamaican keeper was of our two successfully connected headed throw ins), in which case he catches that looping shot, or picks it up as it rolls across the goal line. The second he obviously caused and should be held accountable for.

Guzan is meh, but Rimando is actually bad IMO. His size is inadequate and that would be OK but his positioning is too. Also his reactions are getting slower and his overall performance is getting less athletic. I will be peeved if I see Rimando get ANY sort of run with the USMNT. I can see your point on Howard, we shall see if he can get back in the squad.
