Nah. They own something else too. Can't remember though. Yeah defo agree tho. That place looked and felt expensive. Gutted to be honest.

Gutted. That place was boss.

Tried Button Street Smokehouse the other night. Nice in there, would recommend it.

Nothing of note now the Everyman Bistro has gone.
Paddy is reopening his version of the Bistro in December, conveniently next door to the New Everyman in the Annexe.

I would highly recommend Maray on Bold Street. Serves falafel and other Israeli/Middle Eastern food to an exceptionally high standard.

If you have tried your Tesco style falafel do not be put off, this stuff is amazing compared to your supermarket crap.

Great taste; nice portions; top cocktails (even for your stereotypical male!). The atmosphere is friendly too.

Also the owner and chef are both big Evertonians who in the past frequented another famous Everton board. So football talk is good.

I know it well. Worked for Paddy for nigh on 15 years. Miss the old Ev/Bistro. New one just ain't got the same character.

We were in the 'New Bistro' a few weeks ago and the selection of beer wasn't too good. Well by not too good, I mean nothing was on.

When I gave a disappointing frown the young lad behind the bar automatically quipped, "Don't say it... the Old Bistro was better".

Made me realise that they must be getting that a lot. The place just doesn't have the atmosphere, but it was a terrific place so must add pressure.

Hopefully Paddy can work his magic and instrument his venture next door towards how good the old Bistro was. It will be difficult though.

Going out for a meal soon but haven't decided where.

We are heading towards Formby and right now going to Sorrento as we've been before and she liked it but it would be great if someone could throw a surprise or a gem in around that area?

Go to the Istanbul BBQ on Church Road. Run by a gentleman called Bilal: great quality; superb selection; good portions; suitably priced.

We visited his old restaurant in Woolton Village fairly regularly due to the quality, so travelled up to Formby a few times to eat.

Trip Advisor reviews for his restaurant are positive as well:
