the word "art" is becoming as horribly abused as "fantastic" and "awesome" have long been. The whole debate about "what is art" inevitably resulting in a "my fart is art" conclusion.

bugger that, we know what proper art is, and sometimes we find it in the most unexpected places...like in this synthesizer demo:

my name's Darren, which isn't as cool as Carlos, but at least it's better than Rupert or Godfrey.

What's GOT's opinion of Banksy?

Probably won't surprise you to know I love the stuff.

I like Banksy too. Not just his work, but the message, how he submits it, how he lets it just display in public, and how he keeps himself.

Jexus, the synth guy in the demo, has a similar anti-bull**** pro-art attitude.

Brilliant is Banksy. He held an exhibition in Bristol last year. Not even the museum staff knew he was doing it, just the curator. Set it all up over night, and about 250000 people saw it. Which is ironic, cos most of them would have walked right by one his pieces on the way to the museum, but unless they knew it was there, would not have seen it!

Just finished reading this (about the Bristol Cowboys footy team):

Banksy did a tour of Mexico with them when they went out to play against native teams in Zapatista controlled country

Yeah I think I agree.

Was better a few years ago. Now it's all a little cliche for my liking.

I'm not basing that on an awful lot to be honest, I just get that impression.

The way he sold off those stencil prints for dead cheap and referred to it as a once in a lifetime opportunity, or something. I thought that was a little odd.

He's a very talented guy, though. I used to enjoy seeing the painting he did in Liverpool of a giant rat until it got covered up (at least I think it's covered up now).
