I'm not sure it does add up. There would need to be a certain amount of coming and going to maintain an underwater base. I'd imagine it's impossible to do completely independent of help from the surface.

Not that I'm remotely interested - I was here for the underwear Nazis.

South America is where a lot of high profile Nazis fled. I’m sure they were entranced by the natural beauty of the landscape. Their “best” underwear was almost certainly made by Hugo Boss
