Underrated players

We have a thread with players we don't get, so why not make one about players who goes unnoticed and are underrated.

I'll start with Michael Carrick. As I said in some thread before, he should have been the anchor of many England teams by now, much like Scholes should have been. Think England will appreciate him after he retires. He's one of the best holding midfielders England ever had IMO.

Redondo, Heskey and Bramble are all players who I think were better than often made out.

Joey Barton- Can be a great captain on the pitch, as good as a lot of central midfielders on his day and only for the fact no club or set of fans actually want him playing for them makes him under rated as a player.

Zalbaletta- Famous for being at city but most people don't really appeciate just how good he is, both his defensive ability and the amount of ground he covers every week. Easily one of the best right full backs in the game today but will never make anyones dream team

Duncan Ferguson. When he was properly fit, he had so much more to his game than just being a target man / battering ram. There was a brief period when he was at Newcastle when him and Shearer started to develop a partnership on par with Shearer and Sutton.

Another underrated player was Paul Warhurst - could play comfortably as centre half, centre mid and centre forward. Unfortunately his ability was ruined by the fact that he was a prize bellend and everyone hated him.
