Unbelievably unresponsive

Tried to log on a few days ago and got a message to come back later due to an upgrade or something, since then the sites been a bit hit and miss.... At times ( notably in the sat 90 mins ) the site has just been unresponsive.... Is this a problem my side ? I'm on iPad.
