Not at all. Goodison plays off whats going on better than any ground I know. When it's angry its unbeatable. If we sing for 90 mins we ruin the genuine atmosphere and it all becomes plastic.

I was at the Palace game and whilst they were noisy it was unnessecary and didn't appear to be supporting the players.

Big difference between singing songs and a good, loud atmosphere.

I have never heard Atleti/Sevilla fans be racist and they probs have the best ultras in Spain
 
The ultra culture is fine abroad but it's not the English way. Bring back safe standing and that solves the atmosphere problem

I second this, I have went to a few German teams football and the ultras create the atmosphere and experience it's definitely a positive. St.Pauli being the stand out one for me.

I don`t think that all of the "Ultras" are racist ! But this type of support is much more noisy and exciting ! Every home or away gome prepare with some choreography and new chants ! I dont know gyus but this type of support with singing 10min for all game is not that Everton deserve like a club !

Takes many forms, really. Ultras aren't necessarily racist (although, particularly in Italy) they undeniably are in many sections. On the whole though, the ways in which they identify themselves does to an extent, reflect Italian politics (and along with that, society).

FWIW, I love it, and can't get enough of displays, chants and the whole things. Stuff like this:

Different strokes for different folks and that, of course. I understand that some don't, and that's entirely fair. I know from what has happened with Motherwell's group as well, that it can take a lot of time, effort and discipline to get to the point where they are appreciated by the rest of the fan base. With the way that the Premiership is, it would be nigh on impossible for groups to form organically in the way that they need to, which is why there's been an explosion of it in lower league football, as people have found it an easy way of getting to regular football with the fan 'experience' that they want from it. Trying to get 20-30 like minded people congregated at a terraced ground with an attendance of 150 is an absolute doddle, doing it at Goodison...

It's also why I now know all about the Essex Senior League..:lol:
