Ukrainian Soccer Player Saves Opponent’s Life

We’ve seen random acts of kindness and humanity in sports before, but nothing compares to what we saw in the Ukrainian Premier League today.

Midway through the 21st minute of the match, Dynamo Kiev midfielder Oleh Husyev collided with the Dnipro goalkeeper’s knee when he was knocked unconscious and swallowed his tongue.

That’s when Dnipro’s Jaba Kankava immediately stepped into action and flipped Oleh’s body over to save his life.

Other opponents and teammates scrambled over to assist Husyev who was possibly seconds away from tragedy. Oleh was taken to the hospital and there has not yet been any word on his condition.

We can only hope that Kankava’s quick thinking makes the difference here.
