No doubt those on the right will be along in a minute to tell us it's because we're not cutting deeply enough or quickly enough.
They inherited a growing economy. No excuse for incompetence. Isn't that what they used to tell us about Labour as well?

It is a big deal in relation to other economies climbing out of recession....and that the last labour Government had the economy growing again for a year prior to these chuckleheads taking charge.

You may as well blame the Isle of Man governement as the Labour Government for that.
I think it's widely accepted that deregulation of the banking system was the prime cause of the financial crisis.
The Tories in opposition did not oppose any of Labour's deregulation and in fact pushed for further deregulation of the system.

Don't make it political. It's one group of tossers versus another group of tossers running the country. If you think that the previous group of tossers (Tony B Liar and Gordon'I saved the world' Bottler Brown) were running the country and the economy better than today's group of tossers (Dave the vacuous smile and George the hopeless idiot), then I would disagree. And both are doing worse than the other group of tossers who were running it before Tony got in.....
Can't argue with that.

It did, because deregulation led to people lending mortgages to people who should never have had them. We didn't have to follow them.
Quite. Nearly everyone agrees that operating quarter to quarter is no way to run things as it inevitably leads to short-termism. The government is really no different. Of course there will be some out to make political hay out of this, but for most of us we'll see absolutely no change from when things were .1% different last quarter.
