UFC 158 - GSP Vs Nick Diaz

Looking forward to this. GSP unanimous decision for me. I think he will control Diaz with his wrestling.

GSP is the best all round mixed martial artist I have seen, top notch in every discipline.

I do think GSP needs to finish someone though. His skills are not in doubt but I reckon he could do with an exciting clean finish. I doubt it will be in this fight though as I can't see Diaz being finished

Do you reckon GSP could ever beat Anderson Silva? I think that if they were the same size, he could but the size difference would make it too difficult if they did actually fight. A good big guy will always beat a good smaller guy

I agree with you mate, even if they have a catch weight by the time they fight silva will be much bigger. If they were the same size it would be interesting. Chael sonnen showed the way to beat silva (except for being caught in a triangle choke) and gsp is a phenomenal wrestler.

I hope GSP smashes him, but agree it’ll likely be a one sided decision. Condit showed how to beat Diaz standing but he didn’t really have the same threat of the takedown that GSP offers. Diaz doesn’t really have the best movement and I can see GSP using his jab, movement and his ability to use distance to really pepper Diaz with shots. Then hopefully he takes him down and does what he did to Serra and Hughes. I’d love GSP to go back to his GnP and not feel like he has to submit everyone. What’s Nick’s best chance of victory? GSP hurting his knee, or catching him with a quick sub? I doubt GSP is going to stand in front of Nick and let him hit him.

I think GSP has the skills to beat Anderson, much in the same style as Chael used. But for 5 rounds and given the size difference you mentioned, that would be very difficult. It’d be an interesting fight though and once GSP beats Diaz, Hendricks and maybe Maia he will have virtually cleaned out WW again, and Anderson isn’t getting any younger. It seems that GSP has more to lose though. He’s earning 8 figures from sponsorships and endorsements, if he was to get knocked out by Anderson, would his stock still be so high?

I’d rather see Anderson fight John Jones first to be honest. Although I think Jones could take him down and GnP him. Could Anderson catch him like Belfort should have? Does Chael even have a chance in his fight with Jones?

Condit and Hendricks should be a good fight as well. I think Condit may take that one, Hendricks seemed to get favourable decisions in the fights he didn’t finish by KO, and Condit may be too sharp to get caught with the big shot, shame it’s not a 5 rounder.

Also I know he lost badly last time out but I’ve always been a fan of Nate Marquardt. Brutal some days, lacklustre others a bit like Jake.

I don't doubt his ability but I'm not the greatest GSP fan. Questionable physique shall we say. He has become a tremendous wrestler and it's successful but hasn't had an entertaining fight for a while now. Goes the distance pinning his opponents to the mat. Maybe he is just really good at everything and I'm really a bitter person

Nick Diaz however I truly despise. An absolute kopite of a man. Is there really any need to be such a pr**k? Annoyingly he does seem rather good, although I think he was protected from facing wrestlers in Strikeforce. He is a good MMA boxer, but not good enough to be a professional boxer - though he thinks differently. If Diaz doesn't escape through a window before the match starts I hope GSP humiliates him.

GSP/Condit was good, both men beat to sh!t. I do agree that he doesn't have many classic bouts.

The Diaz brothers are scum bags. Always causing trouble like a bunch of wannabee gang member street fighters. Hope GSP batters his face into the mat.

Ha yeah, it was a bold prediction. In reality it will most likely be a unanimous decision to GSP

Ha, exactly.

More chance of Mucha running the length of the pitch before rounding the keeper to score than GSP finishing someone in the first round.

Hope GSP truly dominates him, Diaz has talked his way into this fight and I hope GSP puts him in his place.

I hope Diaz does beat down GSP but i don't see it myself, I see another bore to death performance and keep Diaz from doing anything to him and GSP causing minimal damage what so ever!

Condit is going to derail the Hendricks hype train as well!
