UEFA Nations League semi finals

The Nations League finals are the only England games worth watching next year, hopefully we can win our first trophy at senior level since 1966.

Whatever the criticisms initially showered on this tournament, it has proved far more successful than could reasonably be hoped for and may easily grow in importance the more it gets established. Perhaps it will be when the knock on consequences for other tournaments are better understood, these may still in future affect world cup qualifying seeds too.

After our Euros qualifying draw which means qualifying is likely to be one long drawn out borefest of attack vs the parked bus of succesive minnows ill equipped to compete with us

czech republic (average at best)
bulgaria (poor)
montenegro (v poor)
kosovo (barely good enough to deserve even a very poor rating)

The Nations League might be even more appreciated as it is at least competitive

I think the Nations League was made as a money spinner to the bigger Nations to keep them happy really.

I mean, let's be honest who wants to watch England play guff like Norway, Honduras or Slovakia? They're foregone, boring and waste of time. Would people still see this as boss had England not done good? I'd like to think so! It's exciting.

As for your assessment of the group. It's an easier ask, and they should qualify easily. But, that said, Montenegro have tested England recently, and Czech and Bulgaria will be tricky away. Should clean through though.

As for NI, gutted for them

I'm looking forward to it. Should be some good games and I think most of the teams are buying into it. At least those that are not at the very top echelon.
