deterrent

just for the record, you can 'think' what you like, well done for becoming the sixth person to mention the signature. you can class their behaviour as ''over exuberant celebration'', i class it as potentially threatening to our future in european competition. it was similar people that ran onto the pitch in pre-season. once the club become known for supporter infractions, the punishments facing the club will be escalated.

lets tackle it before it gets out of hand, to not address the so far minor problem is only to encourage further fan indiscretions.

You think "cracking faces" will deter people? Here's the real scenario - A few drunk people run on to a pitch to celebrate their team winning a football match. Cops crack faces. World reacts to abhorrent over-reaction by the cops. Solidarity groups are set up across the land etc.

Thing is, whether we as supporters or individuals class running on the pitch as hooliganism or not is irrelevant. UEFA take a very dim view of it and they will punish teams for it. Thankfully, we have got away with what amounts to a slap on the wrist. However, it is a black mark against us and im sure any repetition will see harsher penalties against our club

i think it can be branded as such.

Well I think thats a huge over-reaction. I see this as another step towards the complete commodification of sport, putting a barrier between the fans who are now nothing more than "customers" and the players, who deliver a "product". FIFA and UEFA policy is killing the game, killing all atmosphere in stadia and delivering a sanitised experience which has more in common with going to the cinema than being part of your club.
