Jesus you guys have drawn the short straw on pundits.

Monday and Tuesday nights, cut-down matches of Manchester City and Manchester United (Mondays) and Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham (Tuesdays) will be shown in a two-hour program.

That's a bit poor as well.

Agreed on both points. But if that's the trade off for getting every Everton game live, I'll take it. May have to watch a few in Espanol though.

Just seen this. Massive for the US, but what will it do to the MLS?

Can do nothing but help. This turns NBC into a soccer channel basically as they have MLS right as well. So Saturdays will be all Soccer. They can do BPL in the morning, studio shows early afternoon, and then segue into MLS in late afternoon when the season overlap (Spring and Fall).

It's really a massive upgrade as far as the pundits go, should say a lot.

This. It'll be more exposure for soccer in general and with BPL games airing early, it'll lead into MLS games. Only positives.

Brennan's phallic lust

Can only be good for soccer in the US, which might lead to a greater appreciation for MLS, although I can see it hurting TV ratings for MLS if folks burn out on Norwich vs. Stoke

If extended coverage of Prem will impress some Americans, wouldn't the coverage of MLS be underwhelming and therefore a turn off?

Not all MLS is dire.

More importantly, the US needs to show youth that there is a chance for a career playing soccer. We have millions of athletes, but unlike much of Europe, our athletes are typically brought up playing basketball and football. Any increased exposure to soccer will create an increase in soccer players. 99% of those players who chase a career will come up through the college and MLS systems, which will build the league in the end anyway.
