Player Valuation: £35m
How far are we off this? I sometimes think the quality of our squad is spoken down, yes we need more numbers but I don't think we're that far off this becoming a reality.

Howard - Roubles (or signing number 1)
Coleman - Hibbert
Baines - Garbutt
Jagielka - Alcaraz
Stones - Distin
McCarthy - Gibson
Barry (signing number 2) - Osman (signing number 3)
Mirallas - McGeady
Oviedo - Delufluff (signing number 4)
Barkley - Naismith
(Signing number 5) - Kone

So 5 signings and we can not only win the league, Europa and FA Cup, but enough depth for a Carling Cup challenge?

i realise a lot of these aren't quality and there are a couple missing as well as promising youngsters coming through, but i have bought one big signing and a couple of loans/a free.

just to note, this isn't my ideal squad, ours would be better, just stating how easy it should be for us to add to our already great squad.
 
Defence seems quite stacked. The rest of the team will need some work.

Howard, Robles.

Coleman, Hibbert, Browning, Stones, Jagielka, Alcaraz, Distin, Baines Oviedo, Garbutt.

Mirallas, McGeady, McCarthy, Gibson, Osman, Barkley Ledson, Pienaar.

Kone, Naismith.

2 strikers and 3 midfielders, that's what we need at least, beyond question.

Barry, Traore, Deulofeu and Lukaku may come back but I think we'll get 3 out of the 4 at best. We'd still need 3-4 after that.

I think the general level is very good but we need to focus on getting one or two dynamite players rather than filling out the squad. I don't think that standards would drop too dramatically if we had to play our current fringe players. In fact Naismith, Oviedo and Stones have proved the opposite.

We could field that those two teams right now without signing/loaning anyone.

Ideally some of the younger players would either go out on loan or be 3rd choice backup but we have come quite a long way on squad depth.

Would prefer we sign/loan at least two more strikers, an attacking midfielder who can play as a #10 or on the wing and a defensive midfielder.

Those are the players currently at the club or mentioned as possibly being promoted to first team. (Not sure about the players with the question mark)
In addition we should be close to signing Barry.

Definitely need to bulk up in the striker department and one more defensive/central midfield and possibly a contender for Howard. Still, with some clever rotation and with a few different options in formation, lulls our players being adaptable we're not very short of the depth we need.

I had the same thought with baines CDM, I would also like that new signing to Diame.
 
we need a 20 mil striker like lukaku/bacca/bony to lead the line with Traore as backup on loan and Kone

we need barry on a free and another CM Milner would be perfect imo

del to also come back or be replaced by a loan deal/milner filling in on the wing when needed
