If you see anything too silly with regards to links and sources etc, just hit the report function with a short message for the admin.
The admin will then close the thread if we can, and post a link to "the January Transfer thread..." where discussion on it can continue.
That way, if the rumour does gain some weight, the thread can be reopened and discussion continued.
Think thats what D/D and the mods wanted.
