TV money

Ivo

Player Valuation: £35m
They just advertised on sky that the ****e are on mid week in the cup, and again in the league on Sunday. Why are they on every week? Do they get more money for that? I pay for sky but don't want to watch them every ****in week.

It perpetuates the status quo.

Despite Everton finishing above them for the last 2 seasons, they still get more TV appearances.

The extra revenue they get is approximately £10m more and considering we have run at a loss of £5m for each of those seasons, it is the difference between being able to buy a player and having to sell one for us.

It seems like a pretty underhand way of keeping us out of the top positions.

Since Sky is a business, it is going to do what is best for its bottom line. They obviously feel that people will tune in to watch the RS, therefore they broadcast them. More viewers, more advertising revenue.
Don't think there is any more to it than that really

Yeah you can't blame the reds for having a greater media presence and fanbase than us.
If anything we've wasted our strong positions over the past decade, not using it to its fullest potential in terms of creating the demand by general footy-watchers to see everton--- something Spurs have done in conjunction with their rise over the last few years.

PL 9 games - all 9 involving one or more of the TV Six. Plus Arsenal in Europe, Spurs in Europe, The Charity Shield. There's no way to avoid them really - which means if you don't support one of Arsenal, City, United, Spurs, Chelsea or The Sh1te you have to wait a long time before your team is on the TV (excepting some of the games against those teams). Basically these are the ones that sell the advertising space - no matter how bad one of them might be at any one time - and it's insulting that the likes of The Sh1te get to be on 10 or more times in a row sometimes.

Mind you, most games get shown live overseas. Everton been shown live here in South Africa for the last two weeks despite the un-glamorous opposition...

If they weren't, all the ex-****e pundits would storm off the set in protest and they'd have no one to take over.
