Last season that 17th place and survival was worth 68 million
next season it's worth 103 million

for 11th we got £80.5mill same pos next season £115mill

a huge price drop of even 50% is easily affordable

We are just the same as vulture Agents trying to hoover up their piece of the pie.

Defo think theres every need for a price freeze and reductions in away tickets across the board and if any action is needed I will be part of it, just think your reaching for the moon, we dont need the moon, just the tip of that very tall building will do.

so you wouldn't like to pay less ? this years renewal is the opportunity and maybe folk shouldve started to question it earlier but once we all cough it up again for next season then it'll forever stay the same.

Yes of course I want to pay less, im just questioning this crazy little price per seat thing youve got going on.

Whilst it would be lovely to pay less, given how the club is run, it would mean a lesser quality of player on the pitch.

Im all for making a stand and saying enough is enough, you just seem to be going at in a way I cant get onboard.

@Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian actually mate I think you make a very good point.

The argument being that if you consider the fans to be the drivers of revenue through a club either by paying for their seat, buying club merchandise or ultimately through subscribing for Sky/BT then the clubs have never had it so good.

As a minimum the expectation should be for price freezes, the fact that some clubs continue to increase the cost of watching a match is completely unacceptable.

Given the huge increases in broadcasting and sponsorship revenues it's not unreasonable to expect football clubs to be more considerate of their core support.

Im not disputing the math, im just wondering how theres a link between the tv money and seats in a stadia.
Without the TV money this is the price the club would have to charge to achieve the same level of income.

Not forgetting that they already get £30 or so per seat (ticket income / seats)

So Everton are getting around £180-190 per seat in income streams from ticket sales and TV money. That's worth comparing to - say - pre Sky incomes and player wages.

It's an example of what it EQUATES to, the original article I'd read did that but worked it out across the board i.e. every seat at every game at every club over the duration of the deal.

Equating it in the same way for Bournmouth is around £297 per seat.

Utd would be less than ours cos more seats.

you should get free tickets if you've ever worn camouflague pants and camped out for 2 nights with the T.A'S

plastic soldier = plastic fan, so no.

See you get what I'm saying, if you could do a variation of this in a pie chart then maybe goat will get it.

It aint rocket science really is it.

Gate Receipts last Season were £17.9 million.

So 9mill 'cost' if slashed by 50% across the board, we will get +£25mill extra from the TV Deal. So as 'harsh' as 50% sounds it is both attainable and sustainable. As Esk said fans will have more to spend on merchandise etc & that also has the effect of making us more attractive commercially from that other income, if it meant we sold a lot more shirts then it could mean that we get a better kit deal which would reduce that perceived £9mill loss
