I'd agree that most mainstream female comics are not very good, but as a sweeping statement you're well off.

Most mainstream comics aren't funny, and there are far fewer female ones, so statistically speaking there's never going to be many good ones. Also any stand up who isn't a white male often feels obliged to incorporate a gimmick revolving around what makes them not a white male. Eg Iranian comics never shutting up about being Iranian, female comics focusing everything they do around being a woman, black comics talking about being black etc.

Naturally a woman talking about being a woman might not be as relatable to you. But honestly I think the main problem is the sheer dearth of comedy. How many good, mainstream comics are there right now?

Bill Bailey... erm. Yeah I'm struggling already. Mock the Week culture has given too much exposure to people who might be funny for 5 minutes the first time you see them, but cannot hold their own and have such a limited range of ideas.
