Deserves his own thread . Died today only 69. The first million pound player , scored a winning goal in a European Cup final and was a player who was just good to watch. Did ok as a manager as well and came across as a genuinely decent man .

RIP Trevor Francis. A former Palace manager amongst his lesser achievements. Sadly not a popular one but a marvellous player, great to watch for Birmingham City, Forest and England.

A tremendous player. A big success in Italy too when it was the greatest league in the world during the time of Platini, Zico, Maradona, and Rummenigge. One of a long line of gifted English players who was always held in suspicion by plenty in the English game. See also Hoddle, Brooking, and Wilkins.

Remember him resigning as manager from Birmingham City because his son was getting verbally abused by fans in the hospitality area of the club.

Gave me the middle finger after after i gave him a self gratifying hand gesture when he was manger of Wednesday after we had a home boxing day drubbing of 4 -1 back in the 90s. Then with other hand raised four fingers very slowly. We both laughed. Rest in piece Mr Francis.

Never struck me as an outstanding player but he must of been decent.
