Travelling to New Zealand

I spent 4 weeks touring round during the rugby World Cup 7 years ago , absolutely lovely country and lovely people. The driving comments resonate, our Kiwi mini bus driver went straight through a red light in Wellington and T- boned a car , spent the rest of the day in Wellington A&E. We stayed in pre booked youth hospitals which outside of the towns were really great , I just upgraded my room to ensuite where available, great value. Queenstown was fun , even the ‘Tron was enjoyable. lots of super places visited, enjoy!

Did your trip go well?

Just read about this
https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1073170/new-zealand-british-family-deported

About a family who the papers claim are Scouse, but one listen to the video there tells me they're travellers, who all just got deported from NZ.

..... Its hilarious how the media here has overreacted to this. They're a family of disrespectful cretins, yes, but there's bigger worldwide issues than getting hourly updates of them nicking a pack of ciggies from a service station, or being rude to a waitress at a cafe.

Must've been a bad smash.

Here's a first draft of what I reckon for when we go the RV in April... We have 10 days in total, dropping it off on the 10th in Auckland after picking it up from Christchurch on the 1st.

Monday 1st: Collect van, drive from Christchurch to Mt. Cook, onto Queenstown. Stay in Queenstown.

Tuesday 2nd: Day in Queenstown.

Wednesday 3rd: Queenstown to Milford Sound. Back to Queenstown.

Thursday 4th: Queenstown to Arthur's Pass area via west coast highway (or, head from Queenstown, further up the west coast and cut across somewhere else)?

Friday 5th: Arthur's Pass (?) to Nelson, via Kaikura

Saturday 6th: Nelson to Picton, ferry crossing to Wellington, stay in Wellington

----

What people reckon? Nothing concrete, I've just been having a stab at a basic plan
