hi guys. I’m taking my son up to Goodison soon to watch his first game. We are travelling from Newport in South Wales to Liverpool lime street by train.

Just wondering what is the best option for getting from and back to the station before and after the match.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Drew
Hi Drew
We travel up for every home game by coach from Newport check out our website www.evertonsouthwales.co.uk

Have a great trip, a first visit to Goodison is a magical occasion and that your journey is one of many. Hope the result is favourable to the Blues and you both enjoy the trip. Have a brilliant day.

Just to prior warn you, you may think you are in Dublin or Oslo on arrival with the amount of badly dressed Kopites you will see especially now the weather is getting milder. Today was my first taste of the replica shirt brigade .

At Lime Street Street station, you can buy return Soccerbus tickets (£3.50/£1.50). Take first train from Lime Street Low Level station, get off at next stop, Central.

Change to Northern Line. Take first train north (to Southport, Ormskirk or Kirkby); get off at second stop Sandhills. Soccerbus runs from there to Goodison. Check the right bus stop for after the game.

It's an easy journey, just follow the blue and white scarves. You'll be amongst Everton fans and you'll hear all their chatter before and after the game.

There's entertainment, food and drink in the Fan Zone behind the Park End and at The Hub. Check the official Everton website for details of the day. Inside the ground, the teams warm up 30 minutes before kick-off, and the toffee-lady throws mints to the crowd.

Enjoy the whole day - don't rely on the football alone!

There are buses lined up to go to Goodison from about 90 mins before ko ,right opposite Lime St station at the side of St.Georges Hall it's £2.
After the game the buses go back to town from Walton Lane opposite the Park End.

Unless your a prize mingebag, Just jump in a hackney. £6-7 max each way and takes 10 minutes. Or save yourself the lump sum of about a fiver and mess about with trains and walking to / finding stations.

Get a cab at the station, get another on County road after the game. However you get there, i hope they put on a good display for you and your lad sees a win on his first ever match. Take him to the kids zone by the Dixie Dean statue as he will have a laugh there!

slightly off thread, great news for us fans living around Munster , as from mid April the new Ryan air schedule out of Shannon airport means we can fly into Manchester on Saturday morning, and a return flight out of Liverpool in the Evening meaning we will be back drinking proper Guinness by half ten !!.

I got a taxi from the city for about 7 or 8 quid. After the game, across from Everton1, there are a pile of buses lined up which take you straight to Lime st for 2 quid. Did the stadium tour the next day and got an uber there and back which was 5.50 each way

It all helps, but you will still need to know the date and time of kick-off of the game before you can book your trip.
